Experience and Know-how

Commencing with its LED screen business in 1986, Vissem spun off from Samsung SDI in 1998 and has since been developing and manufacturing LED modules, LED display systems and associated components, gathering up the different technologies and know-how as a LED-specialty company. Then in 1998, Vissem acquired the optical fiber material company Samjin Communications. Additionally, we developed numerous protection and distribution components to address the transition to FTTH, aiding the construction of the nation’s infrastructure. The acquisition of Dongyang Telecom in 2021, a manufacturer and seller of communication equipment established in 1969, helped Vissem deepen its technical capabilities and know-how.

Outstanding Technology

The unrelenting investment in technology development has helped Vissem earn recognition from numerous organizations for our technical achievements. We have been selected as a Firm with Excellent Technological Competitiveness, Parts and Materials Specialist, INNO-BIZ, and Excellent Technology Company. Also, Vissem earned the New Excellent Technology (NET) in 2007, then Designated with an Excellent Product by the Public Procurement Service and Eco Mark in 2008. In particular, the affiliated R&D center established in 2002 has been developing the LED display system-related products including the display controller and management software, LED operation IC, LED dot matrix modules, as well as collaborating with the three Korean domestic communications companies to develop wired, and wireless communication products, such as the FTTH products, optical junction boxes, optical terminal boxes, and optical distribution boxes. Our rapid response to ever-changing optical communication technologies has been recognized by our customers for its convenience and product reliability, resulting in us supplying to major telecommunication companies in 45 countries, including the three major domestic telecommunication companies. In addition, we have researched and developed various solutions applied to terrestrial, satellite broadcasting, HFC networks, RFoG, and RFoverlay transmission network systems that helped us accumulate intellectual properties. Furthermore, we are taking a leading role in enacting and revising the Korea Communications Commission's technical standards (certification of conformity), and helping to maintain higher technical standards.

Manufacturing Capability

Since the establishment of the LED dot matrix module production line in 1988, Vissem has reinforced and expanded the overall facilities required for the LED system and module manufacturing and now has a batch production system that enables vertical integration. In 2006, Vissem started the production of the optical fiber components, followed by the acquisition of Dongyang Telecom in 2021 to manufacture a variety of products for wired and wireless broadcasting and communication. We are increasing product performance by fine-tuning with the know-how and experience accumulated over the years.

Quality-oriented Management

Vissem is implementing a quality management practice that prioritizes making products that our customers can trust and be satisfied with. In 1999, one year after our establishment, we acquired the ISO9001 certification and earned the ISO14001 quality and environmental system certification in September 2004 to further our eco-friendly management practice. In addition, we have obtained the CE and UL certifications necessary for export to Europe and the Americas. We have also acquired the Electromagnetic Compatibility Registration (EMC), Eco Marks, and RoHS certifications for most of our products.

High Credit and
Financial Stability

Since its establishment as a spin-off from Samsung, Vissem has recorded a positive gross income for 23 consecutive years through a stable management and solid financial structure. Our CEO's firm belief in "Jeong-Do Management" (ethical management) helped us to win the exemplary taxpayer by the National Tax Service in 2004 and earn the Prime Minister's Award in 2005. It has been recognized as a good credit partner. The Korean corporate accreditation and evaluation organization, Korea Enterprise Data, has acknowledged this by giving an 'A+' rating.
